Mixed Martial Art cross-train in a variety of styles some modified including Grappling, Wrestling, Muay Thai, Kick Boxing, Boxing, JuJitsu, Taekwondo, Karate classes, Judo, and other techniques which aim to counter their opponent's strengths and remain effective in a fight. Mixed Martial Art styles included in the MMA training will vary dependant on the MMA club or gym and instructor.
Typically MMA classes train students in a range of techniques using drills, partner work and FULL contact sparring and fighting techniques.
Learn MMA striking techniques such as kicks, knees, punches, jabs and elbow strikes. Blocking techniques to stop or deflect strikes. Learn how to use MMA grappling techniques such as clinch holds, pinning holds, submission holds, sweeps, takedowns and throws.
MMA training techniques include learning how to breathe properly in a fight. The key in MMA is to maintain long, steady breaths helping keep muscles oxygenated. MMA sparring requires more of your lung capacity than the MMA drills. So learning how to breathe is essential. A good MMA instructor will teach breathing techniques and talk about reactions and expectations.
